OMERI workshop participants benefit greatly from Howard's wealth of experience gathered through administering over 20,000 clinical sessions, his lifelong interest in health, and his research in natural approaches to pain relief. In addition to clinical
practice, she actively promotes massage therapy education to various medical
clinics, physician offices, and sports events. In 2004, she had the distinct
privilege of being invited to speak at the Upstate Medical University
Sports Medicine Symposium.
Bruce Lloyd CMT graduated with honors from the Soma Institute in Chicago. He has been working in private practice and in chiropractors' offices for the past four years. Having well over 100 hours of continuing education, Bruce takes massage education seriously. After being certified by OMERI in orthopedic massage, he applied to the OMERI teacher training program and has quickly moved up into a teaching assistant position. Having seen and experienced
some of the strengths and the limitations of traditional western medicine
in his personal life, he is excited by the possibilities that exist with
alternative modalities and massage in particular. Bruce's interest in
health and human performance is enhanced outside the clinic as he has
been an avid cyclist for years. His involvement in the cycling world has
given him additional insight into kinesiology, mechanics, and understanding
many soft tissue injury conditions.
